As a volunteer illustrator
ACCB (Angkor Center for Conservation of Biodiversity) aims to contribute to the conservation of wildlife and biodiversity in Cambodia. Their educational mission helps to increase awareness of and build capacity for conservation and environmental protection.
ACCB asked me to cover in a creative way their ugly grey water tanks, and to make it part of their educational program with the children from the surrounding countryside.
I spent 5 days in the jungle, painting big outlines of endangered animals on the water towers. The children then came to fill the outlines with colourful painting, so they could become familiar, playful and positive toward the animals they live with.
Combining playful creativity and educational awareness of endangered species, while spending a few days in the deep jungle among majestic birds and sneaky monkeys, the kind of project I truly love.
